Michael O'Dwyer was Punjab's Lieutenant Governor when the Jallianwala Bagh massacre occurred and he supported the action taken by Reginald Edward Harry Dyer to shoot the crowd doing peaceful protest. After the massacre, Udham Singh decided to take revenge. He went to London and shoot the Dwyer during a joint meeting. After the assassination, Udham Singh Surrendered himself to the London police.
